Awaken the poet within every student with our transformative approach to poetry. Encourage self-expression, build camaraderie, and foster a new appreciation for writing in the classroom. Join us in creating heroes out of students as they embark on a poetic journey of self-discovery and creativity.

The Gift of Teaching

If you criticize a student

In front of his peers

The interactions you’re creating

Will consist of fear and tears

A student wants to trust his teacher

To share what’s on her mind

If you respond to her positively

Mutual respect is what you’ll surely find

Students share incredible stories

That are pertinent to their everyday lives

Teachers need to take time to listen to them

To give them encouragement and greet them with high fives

Teaching is truly an awesome experience

That brings forth special moments each day

Develop empathy towards all your students

And reach out to those who may fall astray

First Day of School

The first day of school

Should be enjoyable for each child

When parents ask, “How was your first day?”

They don’t want to hear the classroom is wild

Books, pencils, and crayons are on my desk

The classroom walls look very picturesque

The kids appear to be friendly

The teacher is complimentary

New skills to learn

Learning to take turns

Enjoying the artwork

Forgetting my homework

A new school year has begun

I hope it will be fun

One thing will always remain the same

Having to remember kids’ names
